Discreet Engraving

Laser Engraving

Fibre laser marking to micron tolerances for movements, medical components and serialised parts.

For the work that hand cutting cannot reach.

Laser is not a cheaper hand engraving. It is a different operation with different strengths, and the studio uses it where those strengths matter: inside a closed watch case, on a hardened alloy no graver will enter, on parts that must carry an identical mark a thousand times.

The machine is a pulsed fibre source on a fixed jig bed. Marks are annealed, etched or deep-cut depending on the substrate and whether the surface must stay flat. Annealed marks on stainless add no depth at all, which is what you want on a sealing surface.

Every job is proofed on the same alloy from the same stock before it touches the client's piece. Laser parameters that suit one supplier's 316L will scorch another's.

The details that decide whether a piece is right or merely finished.

Work begins with a conversation.

The studio takes a limited number of commissions each quarter. Enquiries are read by the engraver, not by an assistant.
